That this House highlights the findings of Birthrights report, Systemic racism, not broken bodies; emphasises the importance of the findings of the report, which confirm that black, Asian, and mixed ethnicity women are more likely to experience baby loss and illness, become seriously ill themselves and have a worse experience of care during pregnancy and throughout childbirth; advocates for the conclusions of the report, particularly a commitment to anti-racism by all maternity and neo-natal services alongside a commitment to ensure that more Black and Brown women and birthing people decision-makers in their care and the wider maternity system; and calls for the safe and inclusive maternity and birthing experience for all parents.
