Motion text
That this House congratulates Garrowhill Primary school pupils for winning third place in the Scotland-wide gardening competition Pocket Garden Design Competition, beating 340 entries from schools across Scotland; notes that the pupils won the prize through the public vote in the annual competition for their installation titled The Tale of Red the Redwing; further notes that the winning garden was inspired by Beatrix Potter stories and features animals that live in the school grounds; highlights that the installation was made from recycled materials and meant to be a shelter for wildlife, which includes bee and insect friendly plants like lavender and violet, a bug hotel, a bird bath, a hedgehog feeder and house, bird feeder and bird boxes; and commends the charity Keep Scotland Beautiful which runs the competition each year and congratulates the pupils at Garrowhill Primary school for their great achievement.
