That this House congratulates Derek France, the school librarian at Preston Lodge High School in Prestonpans, East Lothian, on being named the School Librarian of the Year by the School Librarian Association; understands that there was a significant process to get to the Honour List stage therefore being the recipient of this award is a great achievement; acknowledges that school libraries have been proven, from evidence world-wide, to positively contribute to learning and educational outcomes; commends the impact that Derek has been having in the school because of his engagement with his school’s different departments and bringing the library into the heart of the school; notes that Derek runs fun and engaging research lessons tailored to what each class and teacher needs; and wishes Derek every success for the future.
