Families Like Us SCIO

That this House congratulates Families Like Us SCIO on securing a grant of £173,842 from the National Lottery Community Fund; recognises the work of Hamilton-based Families Like Us SCIO in providing a support service for families, in particular single parent families and unemployed parents; commends the initiatives led by Families Like Us SCIO including education and training for unemployed parents to increase their employability, support for better mental health, improved life skills and better quality of life; understands the group will use the funding to provide holistic support services and activities for families with young children facing challenging circumstances; further recognises this will allow Families Like Us SCIO to support approximately 550 people in South Lanarkshire with the support of five volunteers; and wishes Families Like US SCIO well in their current work and all future endeavours.
