Childcare in the Community

That this House congratulates Childcare in the Community on securing £4,707 of funding through the National Lottery Community Fund; commends Childcare in the Community on their work in providing childcare services in South Lanarkshire including nursery, mobile creche, out of school and pre-school education services; notes that this grant will be used to deliver a holiday programme of hubs delivering recreational and education activities to young people in the Hamilton area, and to fund a new vehicle for the organisation to support their work; highlights the wide-ranging benefits that this type of work will have for children, parents and guardians across South Lanarkshire including developing the individual skills, knowledge and community involvement of the children; and wishes Childcare in the Community continued success in their work to help children’s development through working closely with parents and carers.
