Motion text
That this House congratulates Sarah Hunter MBE on her retirement from rugby after a sterling and inspiring career, which began at school in North Tyneside before she was selected for the England squad and during which she amassed 141 caps, and the deep admiration and respect of the rugby family and more widely; notes that England head coach Simon Middleton has rightly described her as England's greatest player, and that she bowed out, after participating in the 58-7 win over Scotland in the Women's Six Nations, as England's most-capped male or female player and the most-capped women's international in the world; and wishes her all the very best in her work for the Rugby Football Union and whatever opportunities she finds for her expertise and experience as a cheerful, graceful and helpful diplomat for the game.
