That this House recognises the grief caused by the pandemic that is felt every day by millions in the UK who lost loved ones or found their lives profoundly altered by Long Covid; notes the importance of memorials in creating space for reflection; congratulates North Hinksey Parish Council, the Trust for Oxfordshire’s Environment and Hinksey Heights Nature Trail volunteers for creating a covid memorial site, planting six wild cherry trees on 25 March 2023 in Botley; further notes that the site offers a place to remember those whose lives were lost or permanently affected by the pandemic; and calls on the Government to provide funding for covid memorials across the country.
