That this House acknowledges and celebrates National Eye Health Week 2023; notes that preventable sight loss due to conditions such as glaucoma is increasing; further notes the value of regular eye tests; acknowledges the need for community urgent eyecare services to be commissioned by all integrated care boards to reduce health inequalities and to free up valuable GP and hospital appointments by increasing care in the community by using opticians; recognises the talent and skill of optometrists; and calls on the Government to introduce a national eye health strategy.
