That this House congratulates sporting hero Julie Fleeting on her induction to the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame; recognises Julie’s exceptional achievements as a professional footballer, having won 17 major trophies with Arsenal, 121 caps for Scotland, and being the first Scot to play as a full-time professional in the US women’s game; notes that Julie also represented Scotland in basketball and was awarded an MBE in 2008; admires Julie’s talent as a professional footballer, which has seen her star for teams such as Ross County, Arsenal, Celtic and Valur, as well as her native team Kilwinning; praises her many years of service to North Ayrshire as a physical education teacher at Auchenharvie Academy, Stevenston, where she has been teaching since 2008; and understands that Julie’s incredible career is a testament to her remarkable determination, skill, and commitment to sport.
