Motion text

That this House recognises the effectiveness of Stop and Search powers in reducing knife crime; believes that Stop and Search enables the police to take control of the streets and protect communities; notes that the use of these powers can lead to the arrest and prosecution of individuals carrying dangerous weapons; further believes that Stop and Search is a vital tool in safeguarding the public from violent crime; and calls on the Government encourage and support police forces to expand usage of Stop and Search to keep communities safe.
