Collection and publication of nationality data by Government Departments

That this House notes with concern the significant gaps in data relating to the nationality of individuals accessing UK public services; recognises that accurate, comprehensive and routinely published nationality data is essential for understanding the true impact of migration on crime levels, tax contribution, welfare dependency, housing allocation, NHS usage and wider public expenditure; further notes that comparable data is already collected in many other advanced nations as a matter of basic governance; believes that transparent information is necessary for evidence-based policymaking, public accountability and maintaining confidence in the fairness of the system; and therefore calls on the Government to instruct all relevant departments to begin systematically recording and publishing nationality data for arrests, charges and convictions, tax receipts and tax band distribution, Universal Credit and benefit claims, social housing applications and allocations, NHS appointments, treatments and costs and all other major areas of public service usage, with quarterly publication in a standardised format.
