Motion text
That this House welcomes the success of the Make It Happen Fund in supporting community-led projects across Clackmannanshire, including £4,500 awarded to groups in Hillfoots and a further £9,963 awarded across Alloa and Lornshill; notes that these awards have supported projects ranging from youth clubs, school communities and carers’ groups to creative arts, gardening and family support initiatives; recognises the role of the What Matters to You approach in putting local people at the centre of decision-making through resident-led funding panels; further notes the support of BBC Children in Need, The Hunter Foundation, The Robertson Trust and The William Grant Foundation in making this work possible; commends the volunteers and young people who took part in the panels in Alva and Alloa; and believes that empowering communities to decide how funding is spent builds stronger, fairer and more resilient local areas and should be a model for community investment across the UK.
