Motion text
That this House notes with concern the impact of social media use on the mental wellbeing of children under 16, including increased anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and exposure to harmful content; recognises that current age restrictions and safeguards are insufficient to address this growing problem; and calls on the Government to ban access to social media for under-16s in order to better protect young people’s mental health and development.
