That this House expresses concern at the sham elections held in Myanmar by the military junta; stands with those imprisoned for opposing the military regime; opposes the human rights abuses against minority groups including Rohingya Muslims and Christians; condemns the election protection law which has been used detain those opposing the election; refuses to accept the legitimacy of elections where opposition parties have been blocked from standing and voters have been intimidated; and commits to standing with the people of Myanmar in the pursuit of free and fair elections and an end to the oppressive military regime currently in power.
