Motion text
That this House notes the ever increasing toxic nature of many online exchanges, particularly in instances when topical issues are being shown on mainstream news bulletins and carried over into online platforms which often results in numerous poisoned, vicious, and vile assertions that have no basis in fact and are designed to intimidate and in some cases force those who are being targeted to understandably forego social media entirely; and expresses the hope that others who determine that no amount of online harassment will deter them from speaking out accurately and frankly on current themes, will act as encouragement to many that the online bullying is pointless and in some instances totally counterproductive.
