That this House congratulates British Sugar on completing the 100th campaign at its Bury St Edmunds factory; recognises the processing of two million tonnes of locally grown sugar beet and its significant contribution to the regional economy over the past century; welcomes the site’s recent decarbonisation project reducing emissions by 20,000 tonnes per annum; and commends the workforce, growers and apprentices whose dedication ensures the continued success of this vital rural manufacturing industry.
