That this House celebrates the vital work carried out by the Thornbury and District Stroke Support Group in supporting stroke survivors and their families across the Thornbury area; recognises the dedication of the group's trustees and volunteers who provide a warm and welcoming environment for those affected by stroke; commends the wide range of activities offered by the group, from knitting to swimming, recognises the important role such community-led organisations play in reducing the social isolation experienced by many stroke survivors; and calls on the Government to recognise the contribution of voluntary stroke support groups nationally, and encourages members of the public to consider volunteering with Stroke Support Groups all over the country to help sustain and expand this invaluable community resource.
