Motion text
That this House commends the approval of three new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities units at Walter Infant School, St Paul's Junior School, and Winnersh Primary School in Wokingham Borough, creating 40 new local SEND places backed by £2 million of secured funding; congratulates Wokingham Borough Council on this invaluable step in meeting the growing need for high-quality SEND provision; recognises that enabling children with SEND to be educated alongside their peers in their own communities is not only in the best interests of those children and their families, but also reduces costly reliance on out-of-borough placements and associated transport costs; and calls on the Government to match such local efforts with a national commitment to fund sufficient SEND provision in every community across the country.
