That this House commemorates Workers Memorial Day and pays tribute to all workers who have lost their lives, suffered injury or experienced illness as a result of their work; calls on employers, employees, and trade unions across the UK to mark this occasion by renewing their commitment to workplace safety; welcomes the service of remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony being held at the Workers Memorial Statue in Vera Page Park, St Helens; and believes that events of this kind play a vital role in raising awareness among both employers and employees of the need for robust health and safety protections in the workplace.
