Motion text
That this House marks International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance; notes that Ukraine has become one of the most heavily mine contaminated countries in the world since Russia's invasion in 2022; acknowledges 90 per cent of mine victims are civilians and almost half are children; recognises 52 countries and territories remain contaminated by anti-personnel mines and other explosive remnants of war; and calls on the Government to commit to working with international allies to tackle global mine contamination and uphold the Ottawa Treaty.
