That this House congratulates the Denny & District Community Group and local businesses for once again organising the Denny Giving Tree and Community Christmas Event; notes that last year’s Giving Tree provided 500 gifts to children and adults who might otherwise have gone without at Christmas, and welcomes this year’s 10 Christmas trees, including the one at the Denny Co-op on Stirling Street; commends the volunteers, schools, charities and shops whose generosity makes the initiative possible; celebrates the community Christmas event on 7 December, including the parade, market stalls, entertainment and carol singing; and recognises Strathcarron fundraiser George Talbot for switching on the town’s Christmas lights as the community comes together to support those most in need this festive season.
