That this House joins the people of England in celebrating St George’s Day on Thursday 23 April 2026; recognises the significance of England’s national day to many people throughout the world; acknowledges the important role that England and her people play in strengthening the bonds of solidarity and togetherness across our beloved United Kingdom; notes that St George’s Day 2026 comes two days after the 100th anniversary of the birth of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II; welcomes the opportunity to celebrate England’s patron saint and all that is great about England not least in history, identity, cultures, traditions and reputation for welcoming one and all; encourages schools, their leaders and community groups and organisations in counties, cities, towns and villages across England, and the world, to give all our people, young and old, the chance to engage with and enjoy this day; and gives thanks for the leadership role that England, and the United Kingdom, plays on the world stage and reaffirms its commitment to to preserving, celebrating and cherishing England’s green and pleasant lands, her people and our King, this year and all years.
