Motion text
That this House celebrates the work of the Stoke Orchard Football Club, an organised youth club that gives more than 120 children the chance to play football; recognises the work of Suzanne and John Cooper, who set up the club in honour of their son Ezra, alongside grandfather David Cooper; further recognises the courage of Ezra, who was born with Zellweger Spectrum Disorder and sadly passed away in July 2022, and who brought warmth and light into the lives of those who knew him; notes the incredible impact the club has had on the Stoke Orchard community, opening pathways into sport for all children regardless of background, including those with additional needs; further notes the efforts of the club in building relationships and supporting their area, including raising £4,000 for the 4Ed Campaign for families affected by MND; congratulates the club on being shortlisted as a finalist for the 2026 Gloucestershire Lifestyle and Community Awards’ Club of the Year; and calls on the Government to ensure the provision of proper sports infrastructure, especially playing pitches, as part of development in Gloucestershire and beyond.
