Motion text
That this House celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Kate Kennedy Spring Procession in St Andrews, held from 16–19 April; commends the Kate Kennedy Club and the many volunteers whose hard work and dedication ensured the success of this year’s centenary event; notes the rich history of the Procession, first revived by students at the University of St Andrews in 1926 following its 19th century ban, and acknowledges its evolution into one of the town’s most cherished annual traditions; recognises the significance of the Procession in bringing together residents, students, local organisations and visitors, showcasing the strong community spirit of St Andrews; further notes that the event plays an important role in celebrating the heritage, culture and historical figures associated with the town; and congratulates all involved on marking this milestone year with a procession that reflects both the enduring traditions and the vibrant community of St Andrews.
