Motion text
That this House congratulates Banbridge Baptist Church on its 180th anniversary; notes that it was founded in 1845 and recognises it as the oldest surviving Baptist church in County Down; gives thanks for the men mightily used of God in its pulpit and membership for the preaching of the Gospel and the extension of God’s Kingdom, including during the 1859 Ulster Revival under the ministry of Pastor W. S. Eccles; recognises the spiritual legacy of souls won for Christ, believers strengthened in the faith and many sent forth in Christian service and missionary endeavour; commends the church’s continuing commitment to the authority of Scripture and the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; and expresses the hope that Banbridge Baptist Church will continue to be used mightily by God for the advance of His Kingdom in the years ahead.
