That this House congratulates Dunfermline Athletic Football Club on reaching the Scottish Cup Final which will take place at Hampden Park on 23 May; notes that this is the first time the club have reached the centre piece of the Scottish football season since 1968 when they won the trophy, winning 3-1 in the final; understands Dunfermline have beaten three teams from the Scottish Premier League, Hibs, Aberdeen and Falkirk, to reach the Cup Final; welcomes the strong competition across all competitions in Scottish football this season, making it one of the most exciting for decades; believes everyone in Scotland’s newest City and Pars fans across the world will be loudly supporting Manager Neil Lennon and the entire squad; and looks forward to a fantastic match and the return of the oldest trophy in club football in the world to Scotland’s ancient capital.
