That this House notes with gratitude, and respect, the 81st anniversary of VE Day on Friday 8th May 2026; commemorates Victory in Europe on 8 May 1945, the day Nazi Germany officially surrendered to Allied Forces; gives thanks to the generation of women and men who sacrificed so much for the freedom, democracy and peace that the UK enjoys today; further notes the bravery and courage of all those who served at home and in Europe; and honours their memories now and always.
