Motion text

That this House honours the life of the late, great Scott Hastings; celebrates his distinguished contribution to rugby, including a legacy of 65 caps for his native Scotland and two British and Irish Lions tours; recognises that watching the Hastings brothers represent their country together was a rare and memorable privilege for rugby fans; recalls in particular his iconic, tournament-saving tackle on Rory Underwood; echoes Brian Moore’s heartfelt tribute that “rugby is much the poorer for his passing but very much the richer for his being”; and extends its deepest sympathies to all who cherished him, praying that he may rest in peace and rise in glory.
