Scott Hastings (No. 2)

That this House honours Scott Hastings, recognising his exceptional contribution to Scottish rugby, particularly his role in Scotland’s historic 1990 Grand Slam victory, both as a distinguished Scotland international and British and Irish Lion, and as a respected broadcaster and ambassador for the sport; acknowledges his courage and advocacy in raising awareness of cancer support, informed by his own lived experience; pays tribute to his longstanding commitment to charitable causes, particularly around mental well-being and the drive to find a cure for motor neurone disease, and community engagement; and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, former teammates and all who were inspired by his character, sportsmanship and service.
