Motion text
That this House believes that successive UK Governments have failed to provide Wales with the full range of devolved powers necessary to build a thriving economy, reduce poverty, and create sustainable and healthy communities; notes that successive commissions and reports have recommended the devolution of further powers from Westminster to the Senedd across areas including taxation, borrowing, rail and justice; further believes that the UK Government should bring forward a standalone Wales Bill to deliver additional powers to Wales, including over income tax bands, enhanced borrowing powers, the full devolution of rail infrastructure, the Crown Estate, justice and policing, energy regulation, Air Passenger Duty, broadcasting, and regional development funding; calls for the devolution of research and innovation funding and greater Welsh control over water and energy regulation; and urges the Government to recognise that strengthening Welsh devolution is essential to improving economic resilience, democratic accountability and long-term prosperity in Wales.
