That this House congratulates Lumo on the launch of its new direct service between Stirling and London Euston, with operations beginning on 25 May 2026; welcomes the significant improvement in rail connectivity linking communities across Scotland, the North West of England, the Midlands and London; notes that the service will call at Stirling, Larbert, Greenfaulds, Whifflet, Motherwell, Lockerbie, Carlisle, Preston, Crewe, Nuneaton, Milton Keynes and London Euston; recognises the economic, tourism and social benefits that improved direct rail links can bring to communities along the route; acknowledges the role of open access rail operators in increasing choice and encouraging more affordable and sustainable long distance travel; and believes that this new service will strengthen ties between communities across the route while ensuring Stirling takes its place on the departure boards of London Euston as a direct and accessible destination at the heart of Scotland.
