Motion text
That this House congratulates everyone involved in the Corstorphine Fair as it celebrates its 20th annual event; recognises the Fair as the largest community-run event in Edinburgh and a wonderful example of what can be achieved when local people come together for the benefit of their community; notes that each year the Fair brings together residents, local businesses, schools, charities, community groups and volunteers in a celebration of community spirit and local pride; further notes that more than one hundred local and national charities and community organisations take part, helping to raise awareness of their work and secure much-needed funds; commends the significant sums raised through sponsorship, donations and fundraising activities over the years; thanks the many volunteers, organisers and supporters whose hard work, commitment and enthusiasm have made the event such a success for two decades; further recognises that community events such as the Corstorphine Fair play a vital role in bringing people together, strengthening local connections and creating a sense of belonging; and highlights the importance of continuing to support and invest in these events, which make such a positive contribution to community life and continue to champion the values of generosity, inclusivity and civic pride while supporting local charities and good causes.
