That this House wishes the England men's football team every success in the FIFA World Cup 2026; recognises the significance of the World Cup as the pinnacle of international football and one of the world's most celebrated sporting events; celebrates the pride, excitement and sense of national unity that the Three Lions' participation in the tournament inspires; acknowledges the talent, dedication and diversity of the squad, which reflects the very best of modern England; notes the unique ability of football, and the World Cup in particular, to bring people together across communities, generations and backgrounds; further recognises the positive role that major international sporting events play in strengthening community spirit and fostering a shared sense of belonging across the country; also recognises that people will come together in homes, schools, workplaces, outdoor venues and pubs to follow England's World Cup journey and support the team through thick and thin; and expresses the hope of Members across the House that the team can once again inspire the nation, make the country proud on the world stage and, at long last, bring football home.
