That this House congratulates the organisers and volunteers behind Eisteddfod yr Urdd Ynys Môn 2026; notes that Europe’s largest youth festival celebrated a record breaking Eisteddfod with a total of 118,089 competition entries received this year, the highest ever for the Eisteddfod in north Wales, with over 14,000 of those from Ynys Môn, the highest figure recorded from the island; commends the Urdd for organising the greenest Eisteddfod to date, saving 40 tonnes of carbon emissions thanks to the use of green energy, and for holding a seven day festival for the first time ever which allowed organisers to stage brand new competitions for new Welsh speakers and individuals with additional learning needs; and joins the organisation in extending heartfelt thanks to competitors, visitors, teachers, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and partners for their commitment to this year’s festival, as well as the whole region for offering such a warm welcome to the thousands who flocked to enjoy and compete on the field of Wales’s national youth festival.
