That this House congratulates Drumchapel United Football Club on its 25th anniversary and celebrates its outstanding contribution to grassroots football and the wider Drumchapel community; recognises the Club’s commitment to providing inclusive football opportunities through its boys’ teams, girls’ teams, para football team Drumchapel United Fortune Flyers, walking football sessions, autism football programme, early years initiatives, holiday activities, and adult and amateur sides; notes that the Club has created a pathway for players of all ages and abilities to develop their skills, confidence and love of the game in a supportive environment, including through themed sessions designed to encourage young girls’ participation in football; commends the Club’s delivery of extracurricular sessions at local primary schools, supporting children from diverse backgrounds and enhancing learning through the power of sport; acknowledges the positive impact of its autism football programme, which focuses on building confidence, enjoyment and personal achievement; welcomes the Club’s commitment to introducing football from the earliest age through its Cubs classes for young children; further commends Drumchapel United for promoting health, wellbeing, equality, social inclusion, and players with disabilities; further acknowledges the dedication of those involved with the Club in nurturing local talent and strengthening community ties; highlights the importance of community sports organisations in providing opportunities for young people and families; and wishes Drumchapel United continued success and growth for the next 25 years and beyond.
