That this House congratulates Gemma McGunnigle, aged 18, from Alexandria, on receiving her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award at Buckingham Palace; notes her progression from Girlguiding through to completing her Silver and Gold Awards with the Air Cadets; recognises her two months of volunteering, her selection to represent Scotland and Northern Ireland Air Cadets at a four day marching event in the Netherlands, and her 10 day sailing expedition along Scotland’s west coast, including a beach clean on the Isle of Coll; further notes that she earned an RYA Competent Crew Award, an Ocean Youth Trust certificate, and fulfilled her residential requirement through the Mark Scott Leadership Award; further congratulates her on completing her Girlguiding Adult Leadership Qualification with the 2nd Balloch Brownies, where she now mentors and inspires younger girls in her community; thanks her for being an inspirational young community leader; and wishes Gemma all the best in her future endeavours.
