That this House celebrates the extraordinary contribution of Kevin Sinfield to the fight against Motor Neurone Disease; acknowledges his outstanding career as one of the finest rugby league players of his generation, captaining Leeds Rhinos to seven Super League titles and leading the England national side; recognises his tireless fundraising efforts on behalf of the MND Association, including a series of ultra-endurance challenges that have raised over £11m for research and care; pays tribute to the selfless dedication he has shown to his friend and former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow, whose dignified battle with MND inspired millions across the United Kingdom; welcomes the announcement that Kevin Sinfield is to receive a knighthood in recognition of his services to charity and sport; believes this honour reflects the values of compassion, loyalty and solidarity that define the best of our national life; and calls on the Government to commit to increased funding for MND research and improved support for those living with MND.
