That this House remembers with deep respect Heather Black of Llanegryn, Gwynedd, who sadly passed away in February 2026 following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, one of the UK’s leading cancer killers; pays tribute to her courage in facing her illness and her determination to prioritise her family and wider community; recognises her passionate advocacy for greater awareness of early symptoms and improved access to early diagnosis, particularly in rural and remote communities in Mid-Wales; commends her significant contribution to charitable and community life through her work in the Dysynni Valley and beyond including her work with young people across Wales; applauds the efforts of her family, and the wider community in continuing her legacy through fundraising initiatives including Walk 60 Miles in June and the Tywyn Tractor Run; notes the planned Purple Party and community tributes in Llanegryn celebrating her life and impact; highlights the urgent need to improve survival rates and research funding for pancreatic cancer; and honours Heather’s enduring legacy of compassion, leadership, and unwavering service to others.
