That this House congratulates Kirsteen Allison, from Alexandria, on being awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King's Birthday Honours 2026 for services to the Deaf and Disabled Community; recognises her more than 25 years of dedicated service to advancing disability inclusion through her work across the voluntary, education and public sectors; notes her lifelong experience as a hearing and visually impaired person, which has informed and inspired her commitment to improving opportunities and reducing barriers for disabled people; commends her voluntary contributions to organisations including Skill, Hearing Link, Donaldson's, the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), the National Deaf Children's Society and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People; applauds her commitment to accessibility, equality, diversity and inclusion through her professional career and consultancy services; acknowledges her role in delivering training to thousands of staff, developing accessible resources and supporting inclusive recruitment and workplace practices; further notes her recognition in the Disability Power 100 on two occasions for contribution to disability inclusion; and thanks her for her outstanding contribution to creating a more inclusive society for deaf and disabled people across Scotland and the UK.
