Motion text
That this House commends John Platt for his outstanding voluntary work in establishing and sustaining the Camberley Men’s Breakfast Club; recognises the important role the club plays in providing a welcoming space for men to speak openly, combat loneliness and maintain social connection; pays tribute to John’s dedication in organising meetings, producing newsletters and supporting members despite his own health challenges; further recognises the club as a lifeline for many older men in Camberley, including several nonagenarians who continue to attend; wishes the Camberley Men’s Breakfast Club continued success in strengthening community ties and supporting men’s wellbeing; and calls on the Government to work closely with grassroots, community-led initiatives to improve early mental health support and address loneliness among older men.
