Armed Forces Week

That this House celebrates Armed Forces Week and shows its support for the brave men and women who make up Armed Forces communities in North East Hampshire and across the country, including serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets, families and charities; acknowledges the vital role the Armed Forces play in defending the nation and protecting national security, and in particular recognises the work of RAF Odiham; notes with pride the flag raising ceremony held on Monday 22 June in Odiham, bringing together the local community in a shared act of recognition and gratitude; pays tribute to the children of RAF families whose lives are shaped by the sacrifice of their parents in service to this country; congratulates volunteers who have worked tirelessly to organise community events including the Armed Forces Day national event in Aldershot; and calls on the Government to invest in and support these dedicated personnel.
