Motion text

That this House congratulates Mrs Gaynor White on her retirement as Clerk to Worplesdon Parish Council after many years of distinguished service to the people of Worplesdon; notes that she has served the parish for more than a quarter of a century, becoming one of the longest-serving clerks in the council’s history and, at the time of the council’s recognition of her 25 years’ service in 2024, the third longest-serving clerk since the establishment of the Parish Council in 1894; further notes that during her tenure she served under three chairmen and worked with around 60 councillors, providing continuity, professionalism and dedicated public service to local residents; recognises her commitment to excellence in local government, including achieving the Certificate in Local Council Administration in 2007 and later attaining a Certificate of Higher Education in Community Governance with Merit in 2020; acknowledges the respect and esteem in which she is held across the community and by successive parish councillors; thanks her for her contribution to strengthening local democracy and supporting community life in Worplesdon; and wishes her a long and fulfilling retirement.
