That this House congratulates Maggie's on its 30th anniversary; recognises that the first Maggie's Centre opened in Edinburgh in 1996, inspired by the vision of Maggie Keswick Jencks to ensure that everyone impacted by cancer has access to compassionate emotional, psychological and practical support; celebrates the growth of Maggie's from a pioneering Scottish innovation for a different kind of cancer care into an internationally recognised model of cancer support, with centres serving communities the UK and beyond; acknowledges the invaluable contribution made by Maggie's expert staff, volunteers, fundraisers and supporters over the past three decades; further recognises the positive impact Maggie's has had on the lives of hundreds of thousands of people living with cancer, as well as their families, friends and carers; notes the important role that charities such as Maggie's play alongside NHS cancer services in supporting people to live with and beyond cancer; and wishes Maggie's every success for the future as it builds new centres and continues to provide free world-leading support for people impacted by cancer.
