National strategy for fertility

That this House notes with concern that there is currently no national strategy for fertility in England; further notes that a number of Integrated Care Boards, including Kent and Medway ICB and Sussex ICB, have reduced the number of NHS-funded IVF cycles available to eligible patients from three to one; also notes the declining fertility rate in the United Kingdom; notes that one in seven couples experience difficulty conceiving; recognises that infertility is a medical condition and that fertility problems can have a significant impact on mental health and wellbeing; and calls on the Government to introduce a national fertility strategy to end the postcode lottery in access to fertility treatment and ensure fair and consistent access to NHS-funded fertility services across England.
