That this House congratulates Park View School, Chester-le-Street, and its students, on the outstanding success and development of its Academy of Sport; notes its growth from a relatively small men's football programme into a substantial multi-sport provision within a mainstream state school; recognises the achievement of young people in County Durham and the wider North East, who have been supported in pursuing sporting excellence, including representing England at the ISF World School Football Championships in Morocco and China; commends the achievement of four consecutive ECFA National Cup victories between 2021 and 2024, and the men's and women's football teams becoming National Champions in 2025; welcomes the progression of students into professional and international sport, including football, cricket and rugby, as well as success in swimming and athletics; and pays tribute to the school’s leadership, teachers, sporting partners, and talented students, whose inspirational achievements demonstrate the values of ambition, dedication, and excellence in state education.
