That this House extends its best wishes to the family and loved ones of Freddie Mercury who grew up in Feltham alongside Brian May, on what would have been Freddie’s 80th birthday on 5 September 2026; notes the extraordinary contribution of Freddie Mercury and Queen to British music and culture and their impact in Feltham and across the world; recognises the enormous love and respect for Freddie from fans across the world including the planting of a Sakura cherry blossom tree by Riko and Emi from Tokyo; appreciates the iconic contribution of the mural of Freddie Mercury at the Feltham headquarters of Russell Finex; and pays tribute to the work of the Friends of Feltham Green in commemorating Freddie’s life including the Freddie Mercury Memorial Garden and the Freddie Mercury and Brian May Walking Tours, and their working with his sister Kashmira Bulsara and family to keep alive Freddie’s memory and legacy.
