That this House commemorates the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States; remembers the 2,977 innocent lives lost, including 67 British citizens, and the countless families whose lives were forever altered on that fateful day; pays tribute to the immense bravery of the first responders, including firefighters, police officers, and medical personnel, who risked and sacrificed their lives to save others; acknowledges that 9/11 was a world-shifting event that fundamentally reshaped global security, international relations, and our collective consciousness; emphasises the enduring importance of remembering this tragedy to ensure that future generations understand the profound impact of terrorism and the vital need to continue to defend democratic values and freedom; and reaffirms the UK’s steadfast commitment to standing united with our allies against extremism and against those who believe that terrorism could ever be an acceptable tool understanding that there is always an alternative to this form of evil.
