Motion text
That this House welcomes the development of the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB) as a multilateral initiative to increase investment in defence, security and industrial resilience among allied nations; recognises the urgent need to expand defence industrial capacity in the UK and across NATO in response to a more dangerous international security environment; notes the potential for the Bank to mobilise private capital, improve access to finance for defence manufacturers and SMEs, and support long-term investment in defence supply chains; further welcomes the Government's work with allies to establish the Multilateral Defence Mechanism and the recognition by the Governments of the United Kingdom and Canada that the two initiatives have a high degree of complementarity; and believes that participation in the DSRB could strengthen the UK's defence industrial base, support skilled manufacturing jobs and increase opportunities for British firms in allied defence supply chains.
