That this House recognises and celebrates the invaluable contribution made by postal workers across the United Kingdom, whose dedication, reliability and commitment help bind communities together in every corner of the country; pays tribute to the many postmen and postwomen who go beyond the duties of their role by providing a familiar, reassuring and friendly presence for residents, particularly older and vulnerable people; notes the exceptional service of postman Paul Pettengall, who served the residents of Dartnell Park, West Byfleet, for approximately 25 years and earned the trust, affection and gratitude of the community he served; further notes the strength of feeling demonstrated by local residents following his reassignment to another delivery round; acknowledges the petition and representations made by residents who wish to see his return; calls on Royal Mail to return Paul to serving Dartnell Park; and also notes this long-serving postal worker’s commitment strengthened community spirit in Dartnell Park, while the bond between him and the community exemplifies the very best of public service.
