That this House commends the outstanding work of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), a charity which provides a 24-hour lifesaving service across the waters of the UK and the Republic of Ireland; notes that, since its formation, the RNLI has helped save 147,096 lives; pays tribute to the courage, dedication and professionalism of its volunteer lifeboat crews, lifeguards and support staff, who stand ready at all hours to assist those in danger at sea; further notes the exceptional service of Selsey RNLI, whose volunteers have been saving lives along the Sussex coast since 1861 and whose crews have received ten awards for gallantry in recognition of their bravery; acknowledges the vital role played by RNLI stations in protecting coastal communities, fishermen, sailors and visitors throughout the British Isles; thanks all those who continue to give their time, expertise and commitment to this lifesaving service; and expresses its gratitude for the RNLI's continued work in saving lives at sea and promoting water safety for all.
